Position: Solutions Engineer

Europe is one of the focus markets for Edmund Optics globally, and the local team is rapidly expanding and developing.
As part of Edmund Optics’ sales teams, the Solutions Engineers are responsible for managing custom optical component and assembly inquiries, as parts of regionally focused sales teams. Specific tasks include managing custom sales projects, from evaluating feasibility, over design optimization, choosing suppliers and calculating selling prices, to quote negotiations, and qualification procedures at the customer. Additional tasks include account management of specific OEM customers, providing technical expertise to other team members, including participation in the onboarding training of new team members. The day-to-day business involves constant communication and cooperation with the global factories, our design center and US headquarters. It is an inside position, with regular travels to other EO sites, trade shows and customers, to support field sales activities. The job offers opportunities to participate in side projects, like writing articles for EO’s publications and industry magazines or participating in and presenting at technical conferences.
