Become an expert in illumination concepts, illumination geometry, directional illumination, ring lights, backlights, dome lights, and line lights in this easy-to-follow seven-part series. View Module 3.8 for concluding remarks and a sneak peek at topics for future modules. For more information on illumination, please read our Choose the Correct Illumination application note.
Hi, I am Greg Hollows. Welcome to the Imaging Lab. In this module we are going to concentrate on Illumination. Illumination is one of the most important parts of putting an application together. It is going to allow you to effectively see your object or whatever you are trying to inspect the right way. We are going to go over a variety of topics in this area, going from the way light interacts with the material that you are going to be looking at, to the way the geometry of the light actually works, and different types of illumination techniques and characterizations that you can do. I hope you enjoy.
